Babywearing Peg dolls for our group’s International Babywearing Week 2012 Celebration!
A simple moon bento 🙂 PB& Jam (as usual) with an M&M eye; blueberries and star-shaped marshmallows as sides.
I’d like to note that these bento lunches are not all my 5 year old has in her lunchbox, they are merely the decorative part of the lunch. It varies by day, but today she also had an applesauce pouch, yogurt, a banana and goldfish crackers. She’s a growing girl!
Save the Muppets Bento 🙂 Chef (face and hand) is PB& Jam (was supposed to be turkey sandwich but there is no turkey to be found in my fridge), with a mozzarella cheese hat, and a spice drop nose. The contrasting mustache and eyebrows are bread crust and his sleeve is a marshmallow. The chicks are hard-boiled eggs with carrot beaks and black sprinkles for eyes.
Yes, I realize that the Swedish Chef is not a Sesame Street character, and to my knowledge, has not appeared on PBS. But all the Muppets support each other and so here’s my tribute! Also, I had a chicken/chick theme planned for today so I wanted to adjust my theme to my political (?) message.
Butterfly garden bento; admittedly, this is one of the sugurier, less healthy bentos I have made but we’re at the end of the refrigerator and I have to go out grocery shopping today 🙂
PB&J sandwich, fruit leather wing accents, apple body on the butterfly; a flower made out of an orange with marshmallow petals (looks like a lot, but this was only like, 8 or 9 mini marshmallows!); banana chips with a butterfly (wings made of laffy taffy and body out of a pretzel).
Hearts bento <3 PB& Jam sandwiches, grape hearts (held together with a pick) and a grape tomato heart (held together with a pick). I was really trying to figure out how to make my ingredients into hearts and I think it worked out! I might do a short tutorial to show how I cut the grapes so that they looked like little hearts 🙂
Spiderman bento 🙂 Spidey is PB& Jam on whole wheat; mask lines are piped chocolate with marshmallow eyes; added on were some craisins with the word “POW” in cheese and a cup full of mandarin oranges.
Portrait themed Bento 🙂 The face is a PB & Jam sandwich; the mouth is a piece of sour belt cut thin and ending in large confetti circle sprinkles for the cheek blush; the eyes are marshmallows with mini-m&m irises; the hair is fruit leather. Also included were some mandarin oranges (with fruit leather name) and goldfish crackers. I was so happy to be able to use my “bow” food pick for the hair 🙂
Angry Birds Pigs in Love. Pigs and heart are peanut butter and jelly sandwiches; on top of the heart (and the girl pig’s bow) are red food leather; propping them up are raisins and in the background, green grapes.
Ladybug Garden Bento. Whole wheat bagel and cream cheese, one whole tomato, green grapes. The butterfly is a starburst cut out into that shape 🙂
