Quick action advent calendar. The countdown begins from the bottom; you snip off each day.
How it was made: It’s a set of cards that were sewn into parchment paper strips (sewn to make pockets) so you can see the number through the paper, but the “action” is printed in a light gray so it can’t be seen easily on the outside (but it still can be seen with a little effort, so if it is a day that needs prep, I can prepare for that by seeing what’s coming up each day). Admittedly, this works best with a child who can’t read, otherwise she could peek in, but fortunately M is only reading a few three letter words, so since there are no “cat” activities in our calendar, I’m safe. Inspiration here.
